SunTrac continues to prove its compatibility and functionality with various brands of air conditioners. Our most recent installation in the Philippines is with LG air conditioners: two 5-Ton splits in a commercial building in San Juan, Metro Manila. To provide a side-by-side data comparison, one unit is attached to one 8-foot panel, while the other is running solely on compressor power. Real-time data from an attached digital meter shows that the air conditioner with the SunTrac panel is exhibiting a marked improvement in efficiency since the installation.
The two LG units are cooling an office area with an open floor plan arrangement during regular office hours, from Monday to Friday.
SunTrac on LG Air Conditioners
Installation of the SunTrac panel to one of the LG units took place on July 1, 2023. A screen capture of the real-time data depicts a drastic change in the amperage draw of the unit. From an average amp draw of 5.83 A prior to the installation, the unit started averaging 3.40 A upon getting attached to the SunTrac, which is considered significantly low for a 5-Tonner.
A side-by-side comparison of the kilowatt readings of the two LG air conditioners indicates a marked decrease in consumption by the unit with SunTrac.
With the per kW cost pegged at PHP 12, average hourly savings with SunTrac for the LG unit is 2.62 kW or USD 0.56. Annual energy savings is estimated at USD 1,350, for a usage rate of 200 cooling hours a month, 10 hours per day.
